Triptych House is a new-build home on a 20×30m suburban block in coastal Queensland. The house will be the long-term home for a family who have relocated to Tugun from coastal Victoria.

The house is light, open, and connected to nature. It sits back from the street, and cuts into the hillside to create a sheltered rear courtard garden. The streetside landscape is elevated to maximise privacy and ocean views without fences.

Landscaping is is integral to the experience of the building, blurring the boundary between inside and outside whilst tempering the microclimate of the subtropical site.

Triptych House earns it name from it’s street facade, which is composed of three parts approximately equal in height and width, like a triptych painting.

The project is currently in Design Development stage.

Location: Tugun, Queensland, Australia
